You are going to enjoy McLaughlin’s pacey gung ho intro with his piercing flamenco guitar work. It puts you in a really good mood and makes you want to dance. The song is unique in its rhythm and takes you through a majestic journey. William McLaughlin’s deep baritone voice enhances the whole experience, and keeps your senses piqued throughout the track. You can make out that the song is both motivational and mellow, which makes it one of a kind in my opinion.

The most interesting aspect of the piece is its ability to simultaneously convey heart and complex artistic skill within the song. Everything is very well put together, including the many different sounds from the guitars, synth beats, as well as the other odd sounds that should not be present, yet combine to form a stunning superstructure of disorder. It’s like seeing a world-class cook toss together unrelated components into the cauldron and then waiting to see the magic unfold. The most captivating aspect of the piece lies in its harmonious blend of heartfelt emotion and intricate artistry, creating a rich, immersive listening experience.

As a music lover, I find McLaughlin’s managed to keep such a strong bass without getting in the way of the other things to be very impressive. The way he executes these complex riffs and yet maintains the groove is so similar to what I perceive as the combined greatness of Thundercat and Primus. The track “Better” sounds akin to a showcase from an artist who has spent years perfecting his craft underground. It is quite refreshing to come across something innovative that is still entertaining, and fun, if I may be allowed to say so. This debut single implies that WGMC is a very promising artist to watch out for.
