There are songs that make you smile as soon as you hear them. El Salaíto is one of these. It has this kind of energy that’s contagious, it’s like it’s happening right in the moment, before you can even think about it. The type of track that gets you moving even if you didn’t intend to.
This production here is really polished. Maestro Wilbert Manuel has managed to perfectly combine the old with the new, the tropical with the urban, and the alive with the fresh. The bass line is really nice, warm and organic, and it’s evident how much attention has been paid to each element of the arrangement. There is nothing out of place. The fun of El Salaíto is the fun that permeates the entire experience. The storytelling is very cheeky, mischievous and very much of the Dominican musical tradition. It’s a celebration song at its core, it’s a song about discovering something truly amazing and that happiness is in every beat.
Yampier Diaz is definitely a musician with a passion for authenticity. The track is handcrafted thanks to the bass and percussion work he does himself and the attention he pays to every detail with his producer. It’s like people who are enjoying what they’re doing, and that always translates. The beat is so fast that it’s hard to sit still to. It grooves, it bounces, and it has that undeniable Caribbean heat that makes Bacharengue and Merengue Urbano so irresistible to anyone who comes across them. A really fun and well crafted track. Play it loud and have fun each second.
